Nilanksha Sachdev, currently an Assistant Professor at DGMC, is an avid
communication enthusiast, she has a rich experience of 7 years in the field of Mass
communication, Strategic Communications, Content Development and Communication
for Development. She particularly feels connected to the field of Development
Communication and has previously worked in several organizations like UNFPA, Public
Health Foundation of India and Ford Foundation to give the use of Media a social
direction. This experience has given her an eye of detail and a vast knowledge of the
interdisciplinary use of Mass Media as a tool for a better society. She accomplished her
Masters Degree in Development Communication, from Lady Irwin College, Delhi
University followed by UGC NET in the year 2011. She has also done a graduate course
in “Strategic Communications and Design” from University of Western Australia, Perth
and a course in “American Families and Community Lifestyles” from School of Human
Ecology at Michigan State University. She has taught as an Assistant Professor in
colleges like Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi and SNDT Women’s University.
She has researched and authored chapters on topics like Participatory Communication for
Development, Games as a tool for social change and correlations between Perception and
Communication. Her area of expertise is Content Development, Strategic
Communications, Media Design, Development Communication, Media Advocacy, Social
Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations.
