Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies (DGMCMS) celebrated its vibrant intercollegiate fest, MUMBAI MEDIA CHAMPS (MMC) on 24 th & 25 th Jan 2017 on its campus amidst much fanfare from the city’s student community.
The two day media fest witnessed a spectacular start with thunderous cheers & glitter on 24 th January 2017. Mr. Anees Bazmee, renowned Film Director, who has directed box office hit films like NO ENTRY, WELCOME, and SINGH IS KINNG, amongst others, was the Chief Guest for the inauguration ceremony on 24 th Jan 2017 at 10 AM. After his inspiring address and release of balloons marking the inauguration, the volunteers broke into a surprise Flash Mob on the venue.
Around 500 participants from more than 50 colleges across Mumbai and other cities competed in 21 fascinating events spread over five categories: Performing Arts, Fine Arts, Literary Arts, Informals, and Media that were adjudged by some noted jury from the field.
More than 270 energetic volunteers from DGMC diligently worked round-the- clock for several weeks to put together a successful festival.The highlight of the festival was the Pro-Show by popular DJ Aztrack, DJ Kuber, DJ Leon and DJ Dastan.
Director General Dr.N.M. Kondap, Director Dr. Kumardatt Ganjre, Dean Dr. Mangesh Karandikar along with the Registrar and the faculty and staff of DGMC, enthusiastically participated and encouraged the students. The festival will also be remembered for some memorable moments such as:
- Launch of the Title Songs of MarathI Movie, KILIK on 25 th Jan
- Visit by Sajid, the well-known Film Writer & Director who wrote films like GOLMAAL-3, SINGHAM, BOLBACHAN, CHENNAI EXPRESS, amongst others
- Promotion of Gujarati Movie “Duniyadari”, wherein the Lead Actress Esha Kansara, Director
