On 19 June 2026, the IQAC and the Women’s Development Cell of RSET’s Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies organized an International Symposium titled “Empower, Educate & Evolve: The University Forum” on the theme “Bridging the Gap: Academic Theory to Real World Practice.” The symposium brought together distinguished speakers from various professional backgrounds who shared valuable insights, experiences, and perspectives with students.
The session commenced with Love Charmaine Uychoco, who inspired students through her entrepreneurial journey and emphasized the importance of leadership, innovation, and perseverance. Dr. Sally Hammoud threw light on the use of AI and its implication in today’s social media era. She also elaborated on the facts of how it is a boon and curse as well and the use of AI is unavoidable and she stated that instead of running away from it, instead incorporate it in our teaching pedagogy in a resourceful way. Ameena Rey-Franc spoke about financial awareness and making informed decisions for personal and professional growth. Dr. Melody Garcia highlighted the significance of self-development, authenticity, and discovering one’s purpose. Michael Christine introduced his innovative platform, Yap World, and discussed how technology can be used to create meaningful learning and communication opportunities. Dr. Amira Al Raidan shared powerful insights on women’s empowerment, confidence, and leadership. James Clanfield delivered a thought-provoking talk on how modern business systems can often make individuals slaves to routines and expectations, while stressing the importance of discipline, self-awareness, and personal freedom. The concluding session focused on strategic thinking, adaptability, and continuous learning as essential skills for success in today’s rapidly evolving world.
The symposium proved to be highly engaging, insightful, and inspiring. Through the speakers’ real-life experiences and practical knowledge, students gained a deeper understanding of the connection between academic learning and professional application. The event successfully encouraged students to broaden their perspectives, develop essential life skills, and prepare themselves for future opportunities with confidence and determination.
