DGMC OBSERVES INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2020

Yoga is a group of physical, mental and spiritual practices or discipline which originated in ancient India. The idea of International Day of Yoga was first proposed by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. The United Nations subsequently declared June 21 as the International Yoga Day on December 11, 2014. Many countries which do not know our language, tradition or culture are now connecting to India through Yoga.
In pursuance of this wonderful initiative by Prime Minister Modi, Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies organised an online session on Yoga by practicing Pranayam and Meditation on 21st June, 2020 for the teaching and non-teaching staff to help achieve mental peace and pursue fitness in spite of their busy working schedule and in this ongoing lockdown period.
The session was conducted by the renowned Yoga Guru Sharmila Saurashtri all the faculty and staff benefitted immensely from it and even suggested to continue the practice with in the college campus post lockdown.
