To enable students to understand various facets of journalism in several sectors, DGMC has started a program where the students are taken out to visit several key organisations to gain a first-hand experience to understand how they function.
To help students understand key functions of the Stock Exchange for Business Journalism, TYBMM students of Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies visited Bombay Stock Exchange on 23rd August 2016. Students have learned various key terms related to finance and business journalism. We are thankful to Mr. Arhana Roy, Deputy Manager, BSE Institute for his support and kindness during this visit. Mr. Roy spoke on the history of BSE and earlier days of trading. Mr. Roy introduced us to Mr. Suhas Worlikar, Faculty, BSE Institute who conducted a session in which he covered history of Bombay stock exchange, mechanism of BSE, and also explained important terminologies like Capital Market, Premium, distribution of shares, face value of the shares, ups and downs in Sensex etc.
