Ad and Branding Club’s – Gandhigiri

In a gentle way, you can shake the world.” This quote by Mahatma Gandhi demonstrates the idea that even small things can make a big difference. As part of a series of Gandhi Month Events, DGMC’s Ad and Branding Club organized Gandhigiri – Do it like Gandhi. Students took up the challenge to make their favorite brands spread Gandhi’s words.
The event was inaugurated by the motivational words of Principal, Dr. Amee Vora. The Students who had participated in this event designed a Gandhi Jayanti special Social media Post for existing brand of various categories. The event was judged by a panel of three people – Prof. Joyanto Mukherjee, Prof. Smitin Belchada and Dr..Rekha Katheet from NM College of Commerce and Economics. The students learned from their valuable feedback and kind words of appreciation.
A total of 22 students participated in the event. All participants presented their chosen brand and the ideas of Gandhi. Shravan Rathod, who made a post for Syska LED and Devansh Doshi for Apollo tyres won the third prize, Chinmay Chandraunshuh who asked the audience to have a dairy milk while speaking bitter truth won the second price and Harshika Barua bagged the first prize for relating the 3 monkeys of Gandhi with 3 steps towards being #banksafe with ICICI.
Learning Outcome of the Event:
- Students read about Gandhi and learned about his principles and values.
- They understood how a social media post is different from a print ad by executing the creation of social media post that their given brand could post on Gandhi Jayanti.
- Faculty members discussed how such a message must be executed keeping in mind the image of the brand.
The Ad and Branding Club looks forward to organize events and workshops for the students to expose them to practical learning.
