NSS Unit SB-22: Activities (January – March 2026)

The NSS Unit SB-22 of RSET’s Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies actively organized and participated in a series of socially responsible initiatives during the period from January to March 2026, reflecting its commitment to community service and nation-building. The unit began the year by participating in the University of Mumbai Foundation Day and NSS Day Celebration, reaffirming the spirit of volunteerism and service. In observance of National Youth Day, the unit participated in programmes celebrating the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and encouraging youth leadership.  The unit also participated in the Mumbai University Annual Camp, where students engaged in community development activities, leadership training, and team-building exercises. Continuing its environmental commitment, the NSS Unit organized a Tree Plantation Drive to promote ecological awareness and sustainable practices. Volunteers also observed World Cancer Day through an awareness initiative highlighting the importance of early detection and preventive healthcare. The unit further strengthened its social outreach by conducting the “Joy of Giving” Donation Drive, encouraging students and staff to contribute essential items for the underprivileged. These initiatives collectively reflected the NSS Unit’s dedication to fostering social responsibility, environmental consciousness, and active citizenship among students.

But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences
