On 6th January, 2025 the Crowdfunding activity under the Panchadhara initiative began. This campaign was organized with the objective of raising funds for various projects under Panchadhara while simultaneously spreading awareness about the rising issue of Cervical cancer. The initiative aimed to mobilize resources for impactful projects and educate the community on a critical health issue.
A dedicated group of students participated in this initiative, forming pairs and visiting different localities in Malad, Kandivali, and Goregaon on a daily basis. Each participant was provided with the necessary identification and authorization materials to ensure legitimacy and transparency in the fundraising process. These materials included official ID cards to establish credibility, an official permission letter verifying their participation, and money banks to securely collect the funds.
The campaign primarily focused on ‘door-to-door’ outreach in shops and engaging with the public in key community spaces. This approach not only facilitated fundraising but also enabled volunteers to educate people about cervical cancer, emphasizing its risks, preventive measures, and the importance of regular screenings. Through the collective efforts of the volunteers and the generosity of the community, a substantial amount of funds was successfully raised, which will be directly allocated to projects under the Panchadhara initiative.
The Crowdfunding initiative exemplified the synergy between fundraising and social awareness, achieving a dual impact on both financial resource generation and public education.
