Research suggests that the role of women in today’s world has changed significantly and for better. Women are now self-sufficient, well aware, financially independent and so much more. They have attained immense success in every field, whether it is sports, politics, academics or performing arts.
And to celebrate them, the Women’s Development Cell of Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies held a Short Film Competition with a Social Message based on the theme “The Woman”, on 25 th September 2020 from 3pm-5pm.
A one-minute-long films that the students turned in were based on women-centric issues and they carried interesting a public/social messages and raised awareness about crucial gender issues. Students got creative and shot the films on an MP4 Format.

The judges, HR Guru Sagorika Kantharia and renowned Ad Filmmaker Jameel Gulrays picked the winners on the basis of Concept, Clarity of issue, Cinematography, Sound and Direction. The respected judges gave sage advice to the young filmmakers and succinctly guided them in the right direction, sharing with them positive and critical feedback.
Sarthak Babar’s film “Balance” won the first prize, whereas the film “Pad” by Raj More was awarded the second prize and the third prize was won by the film titled “The Women – inequality” against voice by Esha Chirania.
