On the first Saturday of this month, 3rd October 2020, a virtual workshop was organised by Deviprasad Goenka Management Institute of Media and Communications on the topic of art direction.
The guest speaker was Boishali Sinha, a production designer as well as an art director in the Bollywood industry with vast experience and knowledge in her field.
The session started with Ms. Boishali giving a short description about her qualifications and experience with the students.
It was an interactive session where all the students got a chance to get in-depth knowledge about art direction and production design as Ms. Boishali Sinha answered all doubts regarding the difference between art direction and production design by simplifying the concepts. She covered different aspect by throwing light upon the budgeting aspect along with sharing the selection process of a colour palette.
She also talked about the role and challenges of an art director in an advertising agency and enlightened us about visualization in terms of periodical drama and visualization of character. She also shared her working experience with the well known director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Ms. Boishali was polite and friendly as she patiently cleared all the doubts of the students and had an interactive session with them.
