A two-day yoga workshop was held on 23rd and 25th September 2024, as part of the sports initiatives under Vertical 6. The Guest speakers for this workshop were Ms. Kirti Jani and Ms. Kavita Longjam. The workshop aimed at promoting physical and mental well-being among students, focusing on the integration of yoga into daily routines for improved concentration, flexibility, and stress management.
The sessions were led by experienced yoga instructors who introduced participants to basic asanas, breathing techniques (pranayama), and mindfulness practices. Day one focused on fundamental postures that improve physical strength and posture alignment, while day two emphasized advanced breathing exercises and mental relaxation techniques to reduce stress and enhance mental clarity.
This initiative was well-received, with positive feedback on how yoga can contribute to overall fitness and mental health, aligning with the broader goals of sports and wellness in the academic environment.
