The first year PGDM (Media & Entertainment), MA (Film, Television & New Media Production) and MA (Communication & Journalism) students assembled in the Shri. Madhoprasad Saraf Hall, in the best of their formal attire, all excited and cheerful. The function was inaugurated by lighting the lamp and singing the Saraswati Vandana, followed by the National anthem and DGMC anthem.
Everyone present was greeted by the Director Dr. Kumardatt Ganjare, who stressed upon the importance of teamwork and quality in education in his welcome address.
Dr. N.M. Kondap, DG RSET Higher Education, set a lively tone for the event by citing some insightful anecdotes from his life that left the class in splits. In his interactive message he explained the humorous meaning of the terms ‘marketing’ and ‘sales’ and how meaningful relationships need to be forged in this crucial stage of a student’s career.
It was now the time for the guest for the event Karl Gomes, Chief of Fanatics, to take the center-stage. With an illustrious career in mainline and digital world of advertising, Karl began the interaction by pointing to the passion that is required to be in the field of advertising. This passion will not only keep you happy, but also give you a reason to go smiling all the way to the banks in later part of your career, said he. Karl further emphasized on how today’s advertising communication is all about giving a purpose to a brand and placing it in the context of a philosophy.
