Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Project conducted by Student Council from 16th to 18th Aug 2021
“Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” was addressed in a series acts, namely – Quiz, Skit, Short-film and Podcast.
The objective of the Quiz was to test the knowledge amongst the general public about drug abuse. Dozens of people viewed & attempted the quiz on DGMCs social media handles, and the overall feedback was encouraging.
The Skit aptly titled “Ecstasy” is not just a state of the mind, but also a mood altering drug, and the two are interconnected. Our play talks about the emotion of love, and how relationships get ruined by the entry of this drug in the lives of the play’s protagonists. The play underlines the value of understanding one’s confusion, and adapting to one’s demons.
The Short-film titled “The Walk” explains the journey of the protagonist’s mind in this fast paced metropolitan city and how he engages in drugs to deal with his anxiety.
The film has a social message for people of all walks – old, young, rich or poor.
Suicide related statistics are displayed at the end of the film.
Continuing with the campaign a Podcast with guest speaker Mr. Kiran Gurunath Chipkar a Founder of Nirved Foundation was organised. Mr Kiran Chipkar was invited to the DGMC studio for an awareness-generating interview on the ill-effects of addiction. Mr Kiran Chipkar, once an addict himself, today runs a successful Addiction Rehab Centre in Malad (W). He shared his insightful thoughts & experiences with our host Sadiya Iqbal.
