The “Art of Acting – Theatre & Screen”, the second event under the Guest Lecture Series category was held on 26 th September, 2020 between 3 p.m and 5 p.m. Notices with details about the event date and time and invitation for submissions of literary writings for the event were shared with students of all classes by the office administration team.
The event was hosted on Zoom and was also broadcasted on Facebook live. A large number of participants joined the event. The purpose of the Guest Lecture was to engage future media aspirants in a live interaction with an award winning actor and director of the Indian film industry who is a well-known film, television and theatre personality Mr. Sachin Khedekar.
The versatile actor Mr. Sachin Khedekar was invited as the resource person for the Guest Lecture. Honorable President of RSET Mr. Ashokji Saraf graced the occasion with his presence. Ashokji welcomed Mr. Khedekar and formally introduced Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies to him. Following this, Principal Dr. Amee Vora, under whose able guidance this event was conducted, delivered a brief welcome note.
The master of the ceremony, student Digbijoy Ghose invited the resource person and Prof. Selvi for a moderated Question and Answer session. Mr. Sachin Khedekar delivered a 7 minutes speech and then began to answer the queries and questions that students posted on the chat box. The chat sections of Zoom and Facebook were flooded with a numerous questions. The questions varied from probing the secrets of his authenticity infusion in character portrayal to asking about the nuances involved in breaking down a script. Mr. Khedekar patiently answered every question diligently.
Also, Mr. Sachin Khedekar left the audience spellbound with a poem recitation.
Numerous compliments and positive feedback expressing how the session was helpful to learners were found on the records of the live chat sections of both Facebook and Zoom.
The vote of thanks was proposed and the Guest lecture was declared over amidst great joy and fanfare.
