The Rotaract Club of DGMC organised its flagship project ‘Colours of Light’ at its adopted Vishram Old Age Home to celebrate the festival of Diwali. The initiative aimed to spread joy and foster a sense of togetherness among the elderly residents.
As part of the project, the club donated 5 kg of fruits, 4 kg of food grains, 10 kg of rice, and 5 kg of wheat flour to help meet the home’s daily requirements. Directors and the core team spent quality time with the residents, engaging in heartfelt conversations that created a warm, emotional, and joyful experience for everyone. The visit brought happiness, warmth, and festive cheer to those who could not go home for Diwali. Many residents, seeing students of their grandchildren’s age, felt deeply moved and emotional. The interaction strengthened the club’s bond with its adopted old age home and encouraged members to cultivate compassion, inclusion, and empathy through direct engagement.
Residents expressed heartfelt gratitude for the visit and cherished the time spent together, while club members felt fulfilled and inspired to continue similar community service initiatives in the future. The positive response reinforced the importance of consistent visits and long-term engagement to build lasting relationships.
