August Kranti Diwas, also known as Quit India Day, is observed annually on August 9th to commemorate the launch of the Quit India Movement in 1942. The August Kranti Maidan witnessed a grand rally on the occasion of Kranti Diwas on 9th Aug 2024. The rally attracted thousands of participants, college students, including school children and government officials. All the people waving flags and carrying banners that reflected the spirit of freedom and unity.
The event was marked by an impassioned speech delivered by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. In his address, he urged the citizens of India to draw inspiration from the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters who participated in the Quit India Movement.
Participants, holding the Indian tricolor and banners with patriotic slogans, marched through the streets, evoking the spirit of 1942 reminding everyone that the spirit of August 1942 continues to inspire the nation.
