The training session was conducted on 12th December 2025 at the DGMC campus and was facilitated by Ms. Insia Daruwala, an experienced resource person in the area of child safety and awareness. A total of 20 students participated in the programme, comprising 13 students from the BMS programme and 7 students from the BAMMC programme. The session was structured into two comprehensive halves to ensure both theoretical understanding and experiential learning.
In the first half, Ms. Daruwala focused on sensitizing students to the concept of child abuse. This segment included discussions on the meaning, forms, myths, and realities surrounding child sexual abuse, along with its long-term psychological and emotional impact on children. The resource person encouraged open dialogue, addressed students’ doubts, and emphasized the importance of empathy, vigilance, and ethical responsibility.
The second half of the session emphasized practical understanding through role plays and activity-based learning. Students actively participated in simulated scenarios that helped them understand real-life situations, appropriate responses, and the importance of communication, intervention, and reporting mechanisms. These role plays enabled students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical context, thereby strengthening their confidence and awareness.
