Sign Language Workshop

The NSS unit organized a Sign Language Workshop to create awareness and sensitivity towards children who are deaf and hard of hearing. Resource Persons Ms. Lata Nayak, Principal of Rotary Sanskardham Academy for Children with Special Needs and Mr. Sitaram Ramchandra Chavan Sir, Vice Principal and PT Teacher at Rotary Sanskardham Academy persons explained that sign language is also a complete and recognized language. They demonstrated how it helps us communicate effectively with children and individuals who cannot hear. The workshop was both educational and inspiring. It not only gave us practical knowledge of sign language but also motivated us to contribute towards a more inclusive and supportive community.

The session concluded with the national anthem performed in sign language The Students also visited Auditory Challenged School, named Rotary Sanskar Dham Academy in Goregaon on 23rd Sept 2025. A major highlight of the event was exploring the school. The students gave a brief about the school and took us to explore and see the projects they have done with the waste materials.

Their motto for the project was “Best out of Waste”. The students made candles, lanterns, paintings on the wall and Science models. Their work was very heartwarming and motivational for all the volunteers. Their gestures with hands and smiling faces made the volunteers very emotional and connected with them. Later the volunteers played garba with the students and made a bond with them. The volunteers felt every part of the event and made them feel the importance of “We should be satisfied with what we have and cherish it.”

But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences
