Brief
The title “The walk” is meant to explain the journey of the protagonist’s mind in this fast paced metropolitan city. The protagonist, who works in an administrative office, gets frustrated with his slow-paced work, and by fear of losing his job due to it, he starts to consume drugs.
One day he finds himself without any money or drugs, and realises the superficiality of his drug-induced dreamy life.
The film underlines the fact that drug usage is not bound to any age group or class. It also highlights the fact that drugs are not always consumed for fun, but there are times when societal pressures compel people to misuse it.
The film is aptly slow-paced to justify as well as criticise the so-called fast pace of the human race. It’s an open-ended film, and the director does not try to justify what happens to the protagonist after that day. Suicide related statistics are displayed at the end of the film.
