DGMC has taken up an initiative to offer free quality courses to its learners, designed by Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) from the Academic Year 2023-24. The courses are available on the “NPTEL” portal which has been started by Government of India. NPTEL is an acronym for National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning which is an initiative by seven Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institute of Science for creating course contents in Engineering, Science and Humanities Streams.
Ms. Divya Narang Tinna has been appointed as a “SPOC” which stands for Single Point of Contact for the NPTEL courses provided in the institute. DGMC is now acting as one of the “Local Chapters” for the NPTEL. The purpose of the ‘Local Chapter’ is to act as a link between the NPTEL and the learners and to help them in the process of admission and examination. To know more about the courses offered by NPTEL, Ms Divya Narang Tinna and Mr. Ziegler Colaco attended a SPOC Felicitation Workshop at IIT Bombay on 15th July, 2023. The attendees were informed about the courses, the process of registration and examination. It was indeed an enriching experience for the faculties to attend the workshop at IIT Bombay
