Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration took place over 7th September to 17th September, 2024

Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated from 7th September to 17th September 2024.  The meticulously organized event was a testament to the unwavering devotion and spiritual atmosphere that filled the campus with positive energy. The dedication of the club members ensured the venue was beautifully adorned with this year’s theme- Colour combination of Green and White which had the celebratory tone set. The daily aarti ceremonies at 11 am, brought students, faculty, and guests together in a spirit of prayer and devotion. It was 11-days of spiritual celebration with variety of events on each day.

One of the most memorable days was Day 6, leading up to the grand Maha Aarti. This was the first time the students of DGMC were seeing the decoration after their vacation break that drew a large crowd, including students, faculties, and others present. The atmosphere was filled with devotion and excitement, amplified by the “Pastel Traditional” theme. During this event, the first volume of the Club’s newsletter, “The Bridge,” was unveiled by the Principal, Dr. Amee Vora, Club Advisor, Prof. Nilanksha Sachdev and the President of RCDGMC, Rtr. Sanman Hutgikar, The Festivities came to a heartfelt conclusion on Day 11 with the emotional visarjan, where the members respectfully bid farewell to Lord Ganesha’s idol.

The ceremony was both reflective and joyous, as everyone gathered to immerse the idol, marking the end of the festival.

The atmosphere was filled with devotion, music, and chants, creating a sense of unity as everyone shared in the final moments of the celebration. This concluding act was a blend of gratitude and celebration, capturing the cherished memories formed throughout the festival and leaving devotees with a sense of fulfillment and anticipation for next year.

Overall, the Ganesh Chaturthi celebration at DGMC was not just a traditional event, but a platform for cultural exchange and community building. It emphasised the importance of connection and shared experiences within the college, making it a testament to the Rotaract Club’s commitment to nurturing a sense of belonging among all members of the college community.

But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences
