DEVIPRASAD GOENKA MANAGEMENT COLLEGE OF MEDIA STUDIES (DGMC) held its Foundation Day on 12th August, 2017 organised to celebrate its 4th years of inception.
Shri. Anuj Poddar, Senior Executive Vice President, Viacom 18 was the Chief Guest of the occasion. The Foundation Day ceremony included trustees of RSET, academicians, and students of DGMC. Dr. N. M. Kondap, Director General, RSET, during his welcome address mentioned that the Foundation Day is a proud moment for DGMC, one of the best media Institutes in the country. He touched upon DGMC’s mission to make DGMC the most preferred destination in the country for media studies, which include media and entertainment, journalism, and advertising and communication.
Shri. Ashok Saraf, President, RSET in his address emphasized the need for a burning desire to achieve and to excel and stressed on the importance of time management. He said that media students are the future citizens & that the world is looking up towards them to propel India into the future. Dr. Kumardatt Ganjre, presented the achievements of DGMC in the Academic Year 2016-17. He reiterated the vision and commitment of DGMC towards its student’s growth, progression and overall development.

Chief Guest for the ceremony, Shri. Anuj Poddar in his thought provoking presentation touched upon several key factors that help to excel in professional life. He emphasized the need for hard work with proper planning, addressing the needs of the consumers, and being perfect in what one does. He also advised the students of making the most of the excellent facilities provided by DGMC and excel in their chosen branch of media and communication. While emphasizing on the need for being entrepreneurial, he stated that it was the choices that we make that are more important than our abilities. On a humorous note, he ended his address by stating how jugaad could become a habit and how it was dangerous in professional life. His presentation and address was followed by an engaging interaction with the students where he addressed student’s queries on several aspects of television business.
