Astitva a One Minute Film Competition on the theme based on the Struggle and Strife of Women was organized by the WDC on 27th July 2022.
WDC had invited three guests from different walks of life. Ms. Ujwala Padlekar, RSET’s Lady Security Guard, Ms. Meena Khedkar, DGMC’s Lady Peon and Ms. Shikha Gupta, an Alumni & Author. The interaction was led by Prof Kanchan Luthra. The guests opened their hearts out while talking about their roles as a mother, an entrepreneur and also working in a role that is male dominated.
This was followed by screening of six one minute films submitted by students. The movies captured the essence of the theme on womanhood. The jury for the day was Prof. Srinivasrao Challapalli and Mr. Sudeep Mehta.
The first place was bagged by the “film Letter to my father”, directed by Karan Goharia, Samarth Jain bagged the second position for his film “The Rise” and at the third position was a tie between two movies directed by Gauribhushan Holkar for “Gul” and Savio Almeida for the film “Aravani”.
