The sports club of DGMC invited Kiran D’Souza, who has been a health enthusiast and yoga influencer for almost 7 years, to conduct a one hour workshop. After a decade-long career in the telecom industry, she shifted her focus on Yoga and meditation. The idea for today’s event was to relate to students the importance of physical movement as well the impact of meditation on stress and daily lifestyle.
The workshop began with some deep breathing exercises and went on to illustrate the correct method and pose for various Yoga poses for day to day life. The workshop therefore, began with Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutations) and progressed towards relaxing the body. Further, D’Souza taught the students how to meditate and calm our minds with some calm and relaxing background music.
The workshop was very interactive and informational. All the postures were illustrated by the resource person and explained thoroughly. This makes the sports event organized by DGMC sports club a very successful event for the month of october.
The event began by an address from our esteemed principal, Dr. Amee Vorah and ended with her heartfelt thanks to the resource person.
