Organized by: Film club
Date: 5.10.2020
DGMC’s film club organized a short story competition as one of their first events for the academic year 2020-2020. For this event, students were asked to shoot and submit a short film on the theme ‘ Separation and Blue’. The event focused on breaking the monotony of online classes and encouraged students to turn the eye of the camera on life around them and explore it creatively. For the purpose of this event, DGMC’s in-house faculty, Mr. Kislaya K. Jha and Mr. Amit Singh, were asked to critically review the student’s submission and thereafter provide valuable feedback to them.
The event began with the address of our honourable Principal, Dr. Amee Vorah addressing the student body and the faculty present. After the address, each of the seven submissions were screened on an online medium one after the other and were discussed and commented on by Kr. Jha, Mr. Singh and the faculty present.
DGMC’s in-house faculty member Mr. Kislaya Jha was the judge for the event. With his great understanding of direction and his unique sense of aesthetics he gave his opinion on each film and guided the students towards the right direction.
The following were the students participants:
- Neepoon Patel
- Ayush Sharma
- Yati tejani
- Atharva Trivedi
- Sarthak Babar
- MAdhusmita Das
- Esha Chirania
After the screenings and an engaged discussion between all those present, it was announced all the participants would get certificates of participation. The event ended with a note of thanks by Mr. Singh who profusely thanked the student body for participating, the faculty for taking out their precious time to encourage the students, all the members of the film club for their teamwork and support, especially the convenor, Mr. Partha Samatha and last but not the least the Principal of DGMC for being such a supportive guide.
