On 27th February, 2021, the Literati Club of Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies organized a celebration of the Marathi Language Day or the Marathi Diwas.
The online event was anchored by Vaibhavi Jog in Marathi and Digbijoy Ghose in English. . Principal of DGMCMS, Dr. Amee Vora stressed upon the need of learning the mother tongue and indulging in its literature. Professor Saurabh Deshpande delivered a speech in Marathi where he talked about the history, significance and evolution of the Marathi language. Professor Vidula Deo also touched upon the rich literature in Marathi language. The students were then instructed to take part in an activity wherein they’d have to post in their own words an aspect of the Marathi language on their Instagram as part of the Marathi Diwas celebrations. Finally, the librarian Geetanjali Marathe delivered the concluding speech.
