DGMC celebrated its Annual Sports Day on 23rd and 24th December 2022 with great enthusiasm. It was a sports meet spanning over two days with athletes participating in outdoor as well as indoor sports. The spirit of enthusiasm could be sensed as many students had enrolled themselves to participate in various sports.
This occasion was graced by Chief Guest Ms. Kranti Salvi (Berlin Guinness World record holder, the Guest of Honour was Ms. Nandini Sharma (A mountaineer) and our CEO Capt. Anant Yadnik. The show began with an astounding and energetic performance of Dhol Pathak and Lezim. Our own students, TYBAMMC student Ms. Saloni Wadke and FYBAMMC student Ms. Pooja Shah demonstrated their skills in gymnastics and Wushu Kung Fu respectively. The symbolic sports torch, representing sportsmanship and spirit of fairplay, was lit and carried across the college campus by our FYBAFTNMP student, Mr. Nachiket Chonkar. Students and participants alike took an oath of fair play and sportsmanlike conduct and the sports day was declared open by the Chief Guest.
All outdoor sports were played on the first day with a total of 8 sports being played by male and female participants. Indoor sports were organized on the following day. Not just students, teaching and non-teaching staff also participated and showcased their talents.
The participating players were encouraged and cheered throughout the matches. The students showcased a great sense of discipline and mastery of skill. The spirit of sportsmanship truly was in the air. The atmosphere of the college was one of festivity and jubilance.
The event culminated the next day which witnessed loud cheers during the prize distribution ceremony. The event ended with a speech from Principal Dr. Amee Vora, who congratulated the winners & organizers. She encouraged the participants to outperform themselves next year.
