The students of PGDM of DGMC organized a talk show titled ‘OFF THE RECORD’ on Saturday, 11th February 2017 in RSET’s Durgadevi Saraf Hall.
The panel discussion had lively debates and candid confessions, giving immense knowledge to students about the way the industry functions. In the first part of the panel discussion, Content v/s Content, panelists argued that though some people disagreed with the content on television, it is TRP which rules the television content world. They also agreed that the Internet and Web Series could, in the future, pose a serious threat to advertising revenue flows to television. The second part of the discussion, Political Interference in Media saw a lively debate on how free the media is, especially regarding freedom of expression in its content. They agreed that television has more interference that the Internet and web series, probably because of its reach. It was a well planned out session where the panelists deliberated on the impact and effectiveness of the content. Also, it was a heartening moment for the faculty and the management to see the budding professionals quiz the panelists and engage with seeking more insights into the functioning of the industry.
